This immigration category has no rigid requirements for the applicant's academic qualifications, but if the applicant wants to apply through the Express Entry (ExpressEntry), they need to participate in the scoring, different education levels (diploma or degree from high school or above) can earn different bonus points.

Who is best suitable for CEC appication?

From the perspective of work experience and language requirements, the best groups to apply for this type of immigration are mainly divided into two types: one is those who work in Canada with temporary work visas; the other is  International Students who study in Canada with study visas. These two groups have significant advantages over others in terms of language and Canadian work experience.  International students in Canada will not be considered for work experience while on campus. However, international students who meet the following conditions can apply for a temporary work visa after graduation to accumulate relevant work experience:

  1. Study at a full-time Canadian university for more than 8 months; successfully graduate with a corresponding diploma, degree or certificate; apply within 90 days of graduation and still hold a valid student visa at the time of application. The validity period of the temporary work visa applied for is related to the study time of the student in the school (the validity period of the work visa will not exceed the study time in Canada). As long as you have more than 12 months of work experience in Canada, you can apply for experience-based immigration in combination with other conditions.

In terms of policy, the Canadian government welcomes international students to stay in Canada for employment and contribute to the country's economic development. Therefore, if you want to immigrate to Canada, you can consider applying for experience immigration through studying and working.
