U.S. immigration law provides aliens with a variety of ways to become lawful permanent residents (get a Green Card) through employment in the United States. These employment-based (EB) “preference immigrant” categories include:


EB-1 :

You may be eligible for an employment-based, first-preference visa if you are a noncitizen of extraordinary ability ( in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics), are an outstanding professor or researcher, or are a certain multinational executive or manager. 


EB-2:

who are members of the professions holding advanced degrees or who have exceptional ability. (including requests for national interest waivers). 


EB-3:

Skilled workers, professionals, or other workers.


EB-1A:


Applicants are of extraordinary ability in the fields of science, art, education, business or athletic.
